For a lot of years, I have followed this event online.There was always amazing projects, ideas on this event. I live on the other side of the world and is really hard for me to attend. Flights from South America to Europe are really expensive. My crazy… Crazy friend Sirko (gnokii) created a donations page, where people can make donations.

“Maybe you know that girl here. You know she does a lot for FLOSS, using GIMP, Inkscape and Blender. Its not that she makes only graphics for Fedora and a lot of othere FLOSS-projects or events. She also give her knowledge always to others, giving talks and workshops on events or producing screencasts.

She always wanted to see an FLOSS event in europe, so the Libre Graphics Meeting and LinuxWochen Vienna would be the right event for her.
There is only one problem, flights from south america to europe are really expensive. From Caracas to Vienna is mostly between 1500 and 1700 $, why 2500 then. So maybe we can pay the hotel also? ;)”

Es bueno saber que somos un buen grupo y que pese a periodos de inactividad aun seguimos siendo un excelente grupo.

Today we had the Fedora Release Party in Caracas and to be honest, was awesome. A lot of new people interested in help and a lot of old members reactivated.

Is good to know that we are a great team and even if we have inactives periods we still are a team.

Anoche no subi la foto (pero si la tomé) ya que estaba compartiendo con mis amigos de #unplug nuestra anual cena navideña. En la misma tuvimos a muchas personas, amigos a los que jamás le había visto la cara y la presencia especial de 2 compañeros que hacen vida en nuestra comunidad venezonala siendo del exterior.

Djamel, quien es de francia pero habla como un venezolano y Simon (MRDANGER), quien proviene de Inglaterra y solo necesita perder su acento para parecer uno de nosotros.

Hoy Simon se vá a su pais nuevamente pero Djamel llega, lo que me da a entender que Venezuela, con todo y el caos que es, sigue siendo el hermoso pais, agradable y espectacular que siempre ha sido.

Last night didn’t upload my picture (but I did took it) because I was sharing with my friends from #unplug our annual Christmas dinner. We had a lot of people, friends who I had never seen their faces and the special presence of 2 friends who make life in our venezuelan community being from other countries.

Djamel, who is from France but he talks like a Venezuelan guy and Simon (mrdanger), who is from England and only needs to lose his accent to talk like one of us.

Today Simon goes to his country again but Djamel comes, I can understand with this that Venezuela, with all the chaos that is, is still the beautiful country, friendly and awesome that has always been.

Hoy estaba usando tacones… SI! porque a veces me gusta vestirme como una chica de verdad. Así que esta es la forma en la que se ve ser una chica entre muchos chicos… esta es mi rutina diaria.

Es difícil ser una de las pocas mujeres que toma acción en asuntos de Software Libre… más cuando tratas de convertirte en parte del equipo. La foto de hoy me recuerda una canción venezolana que a todos nos encanta… “eres una en un millón”

Is hard to be one of the only girls taking actions on open source issues.. more when you try to be one of the team. Today pic remind me to a venezuelan song that we all love… “one in a million”

Esta foto no tiene mucha elaboración en realidad; pero lo que refleja es lo que experimento casi todos los días como integrante de la comunidad de Software Libre en las actividades que realizo. Muchos saben que me ha tocado una labor dura desde hace unos 2 años estando a cargo de eventos como el FLISoL y el SFD, y colaborando con el CNSL y con cuanta cosa se atraviese, así mismo ayudando a formar y mantener comunidades y a cargo de muchas actividades en Fedora.

A veces, la presión de que todo salga bien influye en el comportamiento que tengo… me estreso, me llego a deprimir incluso… pero cuando llega el día D la alegría de hacer que mi gente disfrute y los compañeros aprendan no tiene precio. Es por esto que sigo ayudando y ahora con muchas más ganas; como dije en la foto de ayer… volví.

This picture does not have much elaboration, but reflects what I experience almost every day being part of the Free Software community and their activities. Many know that I have had work for about 2 years; being in charge of events like FLISoL and SFD, and also working with the CNSL and with everything else, helping to handle them, maintain communities and doing a lot of activities in Fedora.

Sometimes the pressures has influence on my behavior… I get stress, and I even get depressed… but when the day “D” arrive; and I see “my people” enjoying and learning new stuff… that is priceless. That’s why I continue attending and helping, and as I said in yesterday’s photo … I’m here again :D.
