When adding a shadow, I think is better to move it a couple of pixels (I prefer it right and down), as the light source is usually not perpendicular on your object.
@nicu yeap, I like to move the shadow, but the principal question was how to do it. I was replying a question that an user made me through twitter. In fact he send me some examples :D

then a newbie can use the “drop shadow” filter, is faster and easier
